About this policy
LightCyan develops and operates TrainKit, an image processing toolkit for AI creators and teams. This policy describes how LightCyan (“we”, “us” and “our”) handles information through lightcyan.tech, the TrainKit desktop application and our support channels.
It covers the information we receive, why we use it, the services involved and your privacy choices.
Information from website visits
Cloudflare provides website hosting and security. It handles connection information, including IP addresses and technical request data, to deliver pages and protect the site. Cloudflare Web Analytics records visits and page performance so we can understand and improve the website. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Web Analytics documentation.
Your light or dark theme preference is saved in your browser’s local storage. You can clear it through your browser settings. This preference is not sent to LightCyan.
When you contact support, we receive your email address and the messages or attachments you send. GitHub issues and discussions are public, so include only information you intend to share.
Desktop files and API keys
Local captioning, upscaling, tagging and renaming process files on your computer. Datasets, downloaded models, generated files, resumable manifests and session logs stay on your device. LightCyan does not receive these local files unless you share them with us, for example in a support request.
Provider API keys are held for the app session. Selecting Remember on this computer saves a key on your device using operating-system encryption. You can remove keys in TrainKit’s API tab. Keys authenticate requests to your selected provider; they are not sent to this website.
Cloud captioning and other third parties
Captioning with your Claude or OpenAI API key sends images and your instruction directly from TrainKit to the selected provider. TrainKit resizes images and removes embedded metadata before upload. Generated captions are saved in the output folder you choose.
The provider processes those requests under its own terms and data policies. Review OpenAI’s API data controls and Anthropic’s data retention and model training policies for the settings and retention that apply to your account.
Installing dependencies, downloading models and following external links connects you to the relevant service, including GitHub and model repositories. Those services receive connection information and follow their own privacy policies.
How we use and share information
We use information to operate and secure the website, measure its performance, respond to support requests and improve TrainKit. Services that provide hosting, security and email handle information needed for those purposes.
We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information at your request or when necessary to meet a legal obligation, investigate misuse or protect our users’ rights and safety.
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their privacy policies describe their processing locations and safeguards.
Information retention
Support correspondence is retained for the time needed to resolve requests, maintain relevant records and satisfy legal requirements. We consider the purpose and sensitivity of the information when determining that period.
You control how long local datasets, models, outputs and logs remain on your device. Cloudflare and API providers apply their own retention policies. Deleting local files or keys does not remove information a provider has already received.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect the information we handle. No internet service or storage system can guarantee complete security. Protect your device and provider accounts, and keep API keys out of support messages and public reports.
Your choices and rights
You choose whether to process images locally or through a cloud provider. You can remove saved API keys, delete local files and clear website preferences from your browser.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict its processing. Contact LightCyan to make a request about information we hold. We may ask for information needed to verify your request.
For data held by an API provider, use that provider’s account controls or contact it directly. You may also raise a privacy concern with your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We publish policy changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the website or communicated through another appropriate channel.
